I was really interested in reviewing The Children Learning Reading System program since I home school Kai in Kindergarten. I am finding out it is okay to step out of our current curriculum to find different lessons that Kai may understand better.
I was given the Standard version of the Children Learning Reading System to review. It was not a dvd set or a series of online sessions. It’s Parent-Powered! Which is good, since Kai spends a majority online with home school already.
Kai was having problems with Phonics. He was scoring 39% on his Phonics assessments. Let’s just say it wasn’t favorite subject. My thoughts were already thinking how is he going to read if we can’t get through Phonics.
Well, that changed with the Children Learning Reading Program!
It was not an overnight change but a gradual change in about 2 weeks time that I started seeing a change.
We spend 10-15 minutes a day in a lesson from the Children Reading Program. The quick lessons did not take away too much time in our already busy schedule. Sometimes, we did our lesson while making dinner or when on the road!
We are now into our third week of using Children Learning Reading Program and Kaiden is progressing nicely in Phonics area, he’s scoring 97 to 100 percent on his Phonics assessments now! He is actually enjoying time spent on Phonics and his confidence in the subject is high! We are still not up to the reading level but the initial improvements are very optimistic when we get to the reading level.
The program is an extensive detailed program but easy. It guides the parents step-by-step from preparing the parent to learn how to motivate their child and learning how to teach the lessons.
The Children Learning Reading Program consists of 50 Step-by-Steps Lessons:
– Children Learning Reading – Stage 1
– Children Learning Reading – Stage 2
– Lesson Stories for Stage 1
– Lesson Stories for Stage 2
– Letter Sounds MP3 Audio Clips
– The Most Common Sight Words
– Children’s Favorite Nursery Rhymes
The program works so well that children as young as 2-3 years old can learn to read phonetically with it. The methods taught is not just for young children, but for children of all ages.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Wow, reading some by age 2, that’s great! I love reviewing new reading and learning programs for kids. I think the key is just doing it a little each day and being patient and keeping it fun so they don’t give up.
